current mood: wow

I saw the most amazing thing tonight. It was such a beautiful display of mathematical precision. It was a scientific work of spiritual proportions. It was a meditation; a trip; an experience. I've been attempting to explain this all night, but I have been unable to do it any justice. A wonderful man named Randall Fontes has created something using light arrays, fractals, the projection of an 8th dimensional object, and music; all mitigated by a patented bio-feedback mechanism. He's combined the entire thing in a such a way as to create a vehicle of reflective qualities and tendencies to express some small workings of the universe and the mind. It's an experience that could potentially enlighten a person, probably continually.

I am awestruck. I have met a modern day pioneer of science and had an experience that I can hardly begin to describe.

I need to find people that would understand this!

At a tinker's warehouse, where Randall set up shop in the back. It's on Allston passed Acton.

I wish I had seen it. And I don't know where yet, but I've already left.

I saw it last Thursday

Hi Stella,
I had a session with Randall last Thursday. Don't know if you are still interested in talking about it, but I have been having all kinds of insights as a result of this. I notice that I am aware of the present moment much more now, and when I drift from it. I think that what Randall has done is very profound. I am feeling myself being launched into a completely new stage of energy awareness. I am sometimes able to actually see (with my eyes closed) beings of light in a foggy kind of way, as if someone was shining a flashlight at me through my closed eyelids. But more importantly, I feel more alive, my heart chakra has opened way more, and I'm having these intense feelings of love.
I am wondering how it has been for you since your experience.

Re: I saw it last Thursday

I don't remember who stella is, but I do have some different ideas about the machine Randy has built. I've considered it a bit and I can only really connect it to a few other experiences in my life. One of them is this: http://makezine.com/10/brainwave/

It's a small device that gives your eyes lights which provide some seriously fertile data for interpretation. The intensity of flashing and color spectrum leaves your brain gasping for order leaving you with some psychedelic visuals. I'm not sure how the audio part contributes respectively, but the tones and pitches gave my mind something to divert my focus.

Supposedly what happens is that ones' brain waves sync up to the input which gave me the immediate feeling of having dropped into a deep meditative state. Unfortunately the lighting sequences are reprogrammed and only about 15 minutes long, which means that the sequence runs with no actual interaction with the user.

Randall's machine provides a far more innovative experience in that it responds to a user creating a far more dynamic range of expression available for experiencing-- whatever one may make of it. The creator of the Brain Machine, Mitch Altman has basically had the experience of everyone having seen totally different things when given the same sequence-- so one can only imagine how much more the mind and body have to work with when it comes to Randall's creation.

The experiences were still quite different, and I visited Randy so long ago, I wouldn't quite trust myself to make fair contrasts and comparisons. I do remember feeling some intense love after the experience-- but that's a frequent emotional response I have when I'm feeling happy or have had any kind of amazing experience with wonderful people!!
